These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Backo, a private Windows desktop application published by QUTB Electric, and of these related informational web pages. By using Backo or these pages, you agree to these terms.

Private / licensed use

Backo is private software. It is not offered as a general public product or public SaaS service. You may use it only as authorized by the publisher (for example for the internal or licensed purposes for which it was provided). You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publicly publish the application without prior written permission from QUTB Electric.

Description of the software

Backo helps users back up and restore MongoDB data on Windows, optionally encrypt packages, send copies to user-selected destinations (local folders, USB, or Google Drive when connected), and run schedules or on-launch jobs. Features may change over time as the software is updated.

No warranty

The software and these pages are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that Backo will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that every backup will succeed in every environment.

Your responsibilities

• Verify that backups complete successfully and that restore works for your needs
• Choose and maintain appropriate retention, destinations, and access controls
• Protect MongoDB credentials, encryption keys, and device access
• Comply with your organization’s policies and applicable law when handling data
• Keep your own copies of critical keys; we cannot recover lost encryption keys

Acceptable use

You must not use Backo to harm systems you are not authorized to access, to violate others’ rights, or to circumvent security or licensing restrictions. Use must remain consistent with the private-software nature of the product.

Intellectual property

Backo, its branding, and related materials are owned by the publisher and/or its licensors as credited (including QUTB Electric and the credited author). These terms do not transfer ownership of the software to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QUTB Electric and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from use of (or inability to use) Backo or these pages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the software is to stop using it.

Database backups involve real risk. Always test restores. Do not rely on a single copy of critical data.

Third-party services

If you use MongoDB tools, Google Drive, or other third-party software or services with Backo, their terms and privacy policies apply to those services. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or data handling outside the app.

Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
